Zenless Zone Zero

An adaptable young man making his way in the world...

About

Silver isn’t a very interesting person. At least, in his eyes, he isn’t. To him, the most interesting thing about him is the fact that he hails from the Outer Ring. He keeps his head down, enjoys reading about Hollows and Ethereal, and fiddles with discarded machine parts in his free time. Though he keeps to himself mostly, it’s not like he was entirely alone. He had a group of friends - a more appropriate term would be “acquaintances” - that he hung around that participated in a small little fighting ring. Just something to pass the time. Being someone who’s rather quiet, he tends to agree with whatever comes his way, as long as it isn’t outright “bad,” then he’s usually down to cooperate. Being taught to fight in the ring by his acquaintances and opponents, he began to develop a style of boxing that relied on counterplay and parrying, considering he’s not a very aggressive person in the first place. Eventually, his little group had the idea to start exploring the Hollows while avoiding rifts, so as not to lose their way. Of course, that means you need weapons to deal with the possibility of running into Ethereal, so the crew spent a long while figuring out how to cobble together makeshift weapons - and from Silver’s own study - engines. The result? His first iteration of Oathkeeper and Aurora Veil, slapped together and welded with spare parts and other discarded metals. It was really from their first and subsequent expeditions into Hollows that furthered Silver’s interest in them and the Ethereal, and he began searching for more ways to find already-established research into the subject.Into adulthood, he hadn’t really gone anywhere. Not many people leave the Outer Ring, and to be frank, opportunities for what he wanted were rather scarce. So it came as a surprise then that when he was 23 coming on 24, his parents revealed they had put together a separate storage of funds specifically for him: to get him the paperwork he needed to move into New Eridu and pursue the passion for Hollow research he couldn’t in the Outer Ring. As well as that, they revealed they had also set him up with a small apartment so that he needn’t move back and forth between the Outer Ring. Taking the opportunity, he did just that: moved over to New Eridu’s Janus Quarter, beginning to search for work while going to an online college. He couldn’t just rely on the funds his parents had scrounged up for him. What followed was him surfing the Inter-Knot to look for busywork. Taking on whatever commissions he could get his hands on while taking online courses; escorts through Hollows, joining onto teams that needed just one more person… until there was a listing that caught his eye in particular. A brand new account searching for bodyguards, wanting to meet those interested for an in-person interview, promising consistent work. Commenting his interest under the post, a few minutes later, he would receive a DM from the new account, claiming they were an underground artist rising in popularity and found need for guards due to it. If he was still interested in the interview - which he was - then they’d provide a time and place to meet up and chat. That time and place turned out to be about six in the evening at Port Elpis in three days’ time. So, arriving five minutes early, he heads towards the water, where a lone figure stood watching the waves and the Hollow in the distance. Now, it’s not his lane to be interested in the life of celebrities. They didn’t really affect his life all too much, and were far removed from his day to day life in both the Outer Ring and New Eridu. And despite that, one may be able to imagine the momentary surprise on his face as he nears his client to find that it’s Astra Yao. At this time of day, there aren’t many people around here, but still, the new Inter-Knot account, the low-key meeting place, it’s no question that she’d like to keep their discussion on the downlow. So, rather than exclaim it’s her like a normal person might, he simply engages in quiet and private conversation, treating her like she was just another visitor here at Elpis, rather than an esteemed Idol. The interview itself? He’d call it… unorthodox. She engages him in chitchat, which he’s never been the best at. But he makes a genuine effort to entertain it, and really, it’s not something he thought he’d ever find himself doing. Just… talking with someone so famous like her? It’s easy to mistake celebrities as people above the commonfolk like he is, but at the end of the day, they’re really just people, still. Eventually, she drives the conversation towards Evelyn, how she took a bullet for Astra at Starloop. Astra believed that not only did Evelyn deserve a break, but in general? Some help. While the position was officially for another bodyguard, Astra also wanted someone else to chat and bond with. And though Silver wasn’t exactly qualified for someone as high profile as Astra, she seemed to have enjoyed his honest and earnest responses to her.She soon tells him that she’ll keep in touch to let him know if he’s hired or not, and the two go their separate ways. Routine as usual. The day to day. Hit up some coursework, find some commissions to help out with, drive home and rest up to do it again the next day. But that Wednesday, his phone chimes with a notification for a DM. It’s from New Eridu’s “upcoming underground artist.” That afternoon, she wants him to meet her somewhere else. The reason why? He’s got the job.

Abilities

  • A឵឵ttribute - Ice

  • Speciality - Stun/Anomaly Hybrid

  • Weapon - "Oathkeeper" - Metal gauntlets and greaves to compliment his brawling style of combat. Lightweight yet still hard hitting, they allow him to move while still dealing quite a bit of damage.

  • W-Engine - "Aurora Veil” - His W-Engine causes Oathkeeper to supercool just before impact, causing them to become denser and feel heavier, adding more oomph to his impacts. After an impact is made, it rapidly reheats the item to become room temperature and easy to wield again.

  • ឵឵

  • Basic Attack - "Priority Shift" - A series of 4 swift yet heavy punches and uppercuts, finishing off with a Sparta-kick. The first two strikes deal Physical DMG. Timing the second or fourth attack with an enemy’s attack will have Silver parry the attack and immediately counterattack as if triggering his Quick Assist without interrupting the combo count. If parrying a disjointed attack, he’ll side step and dash towards the attacker. If within range, trigger his Quick Assist automatically as a counterattack. Each attack deals heavy Daze.

  • ឵឵

  • ឵Dodge - "The Silent Cartographer" - A quick dash dodge. Character is invulnerable while using this skill.
--- Press dodge while attacking to activate:
Perform a quick sidestep in the direction being held forward. This skill will not interrupt the combo count for Basic Attacks.

  • Dash Attack - "Shut up and get Behind me... Sir" - While dodging, attack to activate:
Rapidly strikes enemies in front with Silver’s fists, dealing Physical DMG.

  • Dodge Counter - "Well Enough Alone" - During a perfect dodge, attack to activate:
Perform a devastating uppercut that deals Physical DMG. Character is invulnerable while using this skill.

  • ឵឵

  • ឵Quick Assist - "Rolling Thunder" - When the on-field character is launched, switch to Silver to activate:
Slip in and around the enemy’s attack to perform a right hook, dealing Physical DMG. Character is invulnerable while using this skill.

  • Defensive Assist - "Reunion Tour" - When the on-field character is about to be attacked, switch to Silver to activate:
Slam the ground to unleash an icy shockwave in an outward cone in front, dealing Ice DMG to enemies caught in the attack and momentarily stunning them for 0.5 seconds.
--- After using this skill, hold Attack to dash between afflicted enemies to immediately follow up with attacks that deal Physical DMG. This follow up attack can be used immediately after the first enemy is affected by the shockwave. Character is invulnerable while using this skill.

  • Assist Follow-Up - "Wait, it Gets Worse!" - Press Attack after a Defensive Assist to activate:
Strike enemies in front with a winded-up punch, dealing heavy Physical DMG. Character is invulnerable while using this skill.
--- After using this skill, hold Attack to immediately follow up with an overhead axe kick that deals Physical DMG.

  • ឵Special Attack - "Breaking Stuff to Look Through" - Press Special to activate:
Strikes enemies in front with an uppercut, dealing Physical DMG. Anti-interrupt level is increased while using this skill.
--- Use during a sidestep dodge to activate:
Strike forward with a flurry of kicks and punches, dealing Physical DMG. This skill will not interrupt the combo count for Basic Attacks. Anti-interrupt level is increased while using this skill.

  • EX Special Attack - "One Size Fits All" - With enough energy, use Special to activate:
Over-freeze Oathsworn to coat it entirely in ice, then unleash a blisteringly fast combo-blow that deals massive Ice DMG to enemies caught within it and drags enemies towards the center of the attack.
--- Press Special again during this skill to spend additional Energy to perform a follow up attack that has Silver leap into the air and slam his fists into the ground, launching enemies away while dealing massive Ice DMG to those caught in the blast. This shatters the built-up ice on Oathsworn. After this part, press the Attack button repeatedly to dash between enemies launched by the blast, then grab and slam them into the ground to deal extra Physical DMG to those affected. Character is invulnerable while using this skill.

  • ឵឵

  • ឵Chain Attack - "Judgement" - When Chain Attack is triggered, select character to activate:
Unleashes a powerful overhead axe kick in front in a small area, dealing massive Ice DMG. Character is invulnerable while using this skill.

  • Ultimate - "A Whisper in the Storm" - When Decibel Rating is at maximum, Silver speeds up and darts around the enemy, rapidly striking at them and building up icy residue on the battlefield around them, as well as on the enemy, causing ice crystals to form. While the enemy is reeling from the attack, Silver snaps his fingers, causing the ice crystals to shatter. The ice shards that spawn caused by the crystals shattering whirl around the target, tearing into them and shredding them before melting away, dealing massive Ice DMG. Character is invulnerable while using this skill.

  • ឵឵

  • ឵Core Passive - "Last One Out... Turn Out the Lights" - Silver's Core Passive requires an Attack, Rupture, or Anomaly Agent on the team to activate:
When Silver has a passive buff active - granted to him by another Agent due to the lack of ability in granting himself a passive buff - all instances of Physical DMG that he would deal instead deal Ice DMG. As well as that, Silver’s Ice DMG attacks become extremely adept in applying Anomaly. When an enemy becomes Dazed by Silver, they also instantly become Frozen. When Silver freezes an opponent, Quick Assist is available to be triggered for the next Agent in line. If this Quick Assist is triggered, that Agent’s Quick Assist causes the following effects:
--- The frozen enemy suffers Shatter and the damage that follows it, then begins taking Ice DoT that also builds up Ice Anomaly until Freeze and Shatter is triggered again.
--- The Agent that switches in with Silver via this Quick Assist has their attack immediately trigger a DoT similar to Silver’s but of their element alongside his Ice DoT, even if their element Anomaly doesn’t traditionally do that. This DoT will trigger Disorder and also helps build the Agent’s Anomaly meter on the afflicted enemy.
--- The second time that Shatter occurs in this way, there is no more Ice DoT and the afflicted enemy explodes and takes damage from both Silver and the new Agent’s element instead of traditional Shatter damage.

  • Additional Ability - "Know Your Role..." - Silver’s Additional Core Ability requires a Stun Agent in the team to activate. If the specified Agent is on the team, the Core Passive becomes disabled (if activated) in exchange for this Additional Core Ability activating:
When in a team with another Stun agent, Silver trades out his heavier attacks on impact for lighter and even quicker ones. This causes him to lose his ability to inflict Daze reliably like a traditional Stun agent, but because of his shift in weight, the frequency of attacks become more adept at inflicting Anomaly. All instances of Physical DMG that he would deal instead deal Ice DMG. Enemies afflicted by Shatter from Silver’s attacks use the damage multiplier from Assault instead (700% rather than 500%), while still being of the Ice element.

Fate

A magical scholar...

About

Born to a family of mages that run a commonplace jewelry chain, Silver grew up with abundant wealth. While one would assume this would make someone like him snobby and full of himself, Silver is quite the opposite: quiet and reserved. His quiet nature caused him to spend more time alone, particularly in libraries. Silver’s preferred literature is fictional stories, aside from magic. With his free time being spent delving partially into magic, it allowed him to become far more proficient in the field much faster than others. As far as mages go, Silver isn’t the most interesting of the bunch considering his nature as a loner. Preferring the magical arts to his family’s business, he enrolled in the Clock Tower utilizing his family’s wealth to get away from it all and further chase his personal interests. He often chooses to study abroad when he can, interested in learning and studying both magic itself and its history wherever he can.Alternatively,
In the case of FGO, he is one of the Masters summoned by Chaldea to assist with correcting singularities in efforts to save humanity. His analytical and quiet nature leads him to be a successful tactician among the Masters there, though he isn't exactly the most popular.

Abilities

  • Strength - C
    Agility - B
    Endurance - B
    Mana - A
    Circuit Quality - B
    Circuit Quantity - A

  • Utilizing different gemstones as a source to channel magic through, Silver’s family can easily summon the usage of different elements. Diamonds channel magic as ice, Rubies as fire, Sapphires as water, Topaz as electricity. While not an element, Onyx allows him to manipulate gravity within a constrained area, with the application of pull or push being applied upon intent, and Emeralds allow him to apply a passive healing effect to the target.
--- Silver’s usage of magic is limited by the uses of his imagination, but his nature as a realist often stifles the creative output.

  • While utilizing the gemstones to summon the elements to use, he can also manipulate those elements if they’re active on the field. Which gemstone he channels his magic through causes it to emit a bright, noticeable glow, even when those stones are obscured from view in his pockets.

  • As far as weapons themselves go, he carries a pair of brass knuckles with him. Often, he'll utilize a Topaz to apply an electrical effect to his blows.

WIP. As such, here's a short description:
Normally, he’s wearing a simple getup, since he doesn’t care so much to show off. A black, leather jacket, white t-shirt, jeans, and boots. He’s fit for someone who spends most of his time reading, sporting a lean yet muscular build.

Fire Emblem Fates

The Songstress' Retainer

About

A commoner hailing from Valla, his rather uneventful life was shattered from a young age when the Silent Dragon went on a rampage. Up until making it to an Outrealm portal to escape to the land above, the Dragon's rampage destabilized the area around, causing debris to come raining down. Before he could even process what occurred, Silver's parents threw him through the portal to save his life while theirs would never get to leave the land they sought to escape. When he made it through, the young boy attempted to go back for his family, only for the portal to collapse, leaving him stranded in unknown territory. As if the trauma wasn't bad enough, when the survivors around him tried to talk about it, asking why Anankos had turned on Valla so suddenly, they evaporated into water. Watching what was a decently large group of survivors disappear into thin air as if they weren't there in the first place helped leave a mark on his soul. From that day on, he became quiet and withdrawn, only speaking when necessary for fear of disappearance. From there, what was left of the survivors who kept silent dispersed, and Silver tagged along with a small group to Hoshido, where he grew up as an orphan. To fill his days of mostly silence, he took to reading whatever he could get his hands on. Stories that painted pictures of fictional worlds only the imagination could conjure, tomes full of magicks only the most astute could cast... all of which he took a liking to. He grew up being quite the studious man, teaching himself to utilize the spells he read about, working to help keep up a local library. It was a quaint life, and one he didn't complain about. Honest work was what it was. Often times, he would wonder about the land he'd come from, too afraid to even think of its name. What would've happened if he stayed there? If that... thing hadn't gone berserk as it did. Would he be as lively as everyone else? Would he be a librarian still? Questions for another life he would never see...In his mid-twenties, there was talk around town. A Nohrian princess had been captured again. The townsfolk already had mixed feelings about the current one that resided with the family, and they weren't exactly happy about another one being brought into their midst. Especially with the rise of Faceless attacks stemming from Nohr's sorcerers. Despicable abominations of darker magic that perverted the arcane arts... In any case, and in an official capacity, it was said that the royal palace was searching for a new retainer, one for their current captive. Naturally, no one wanted the job. They already didn't exactly trust her, and the soon-to-be arrival of another Nohrian was a little nerve-racking. Officially, it was for extra protection of the princess. Unofficially? Queen Mikoto wanted Azura to have someone to talk to, seeing Azura be so lonely for so long, she's a little concerned.
Seeing good money in it to purchase more tomes and books for himself, rather than getting everything from the library he worked at, Silver took on the job. Since no one wanted it, he was automatically guaranteed the position of Azura's retainer, tasked with protecting her, making sure no harm came to her. Especially from the incoming Nohrian.
Silver wasn't wary of Azura like most others were when she initially arrived. He regarded her as just another person, which was a bit of a shock to her. Their early relationship is one filled with minor annoyances and grievances as they accustom to the other's presence, but eventually, Azura might come to see that she was assigned a simple soul, and one as loyal as they might come.---As far as personality goes, Silver is a mostly quiet and reserved person. He's not one to succumb to his emotions as fast as others might. He doesn't talk very often, preferring to stay quiet unless spoken to or he has something to add to a conversation or ask. When he does speak, he's blunt and straight to the point, oftentimes being considered "rude" because of his lack of concern for how his words come out. In reality, it's a consequence of him not engaging in socialization very often. Don't quite know the rules when it's something you've not done very much, huh? In any case, he's also known to have a sharp tongue, particularly towards those being obviously rude towards him. Sarcasm comes naturally to the young man. With friends, he's a little more laidback, but still relatively quiet. He's fiercely loyal to those he would call friends, sometimes to a fault. Were you to befriend him, he would trust you with his life, and hopes that you would return the gesture.

Abilities

  • Spellcaster - Silver takes a liking to the mystic arts, firing off spells from a distance. In particular, he likes to study and use the magic that belongs to the Ice Tribe from Nohr. A controversial pick, considering he resides in Hoshido. Though he doesn't use them often, he's capable of utilizing staves to help heal others if given one. But he prefers to be offensive with his magic.

  • Armored Gauntlets/Boots - When an enemy gets too close to engage with magic accurately (in a realistic sense, since Fates began to allow tomes to be used in close quarters), Silver will trade his tome for his fists and feet, engaging in a brawl with his opponent. With heavier armor on his gauntlets and boots, it allows him to block attacks and subsequently counterattack where other mages might fall victim to the wrong end of a steel edge.

  • Agile - Because of the previous point, Silver is a rather agile person. Sort of need to be if you're going to be using your fists against a blade, aren't you? He's quick on his feet, and his hands are just as fast.

  • Analytical - Silver has a keen mind, spending most of his time reading and studying up on magic. As such, he's able to analyze an opponent's fighting habits to help give him a slight edge if given enough time to think it through. It also allows him to help others conduct tactical choices for battle.
